Razormind announces major bitcoin investment in Northern Ireland with Offices in Belfast City Centre, creating 12 new jobs, 20 paid internships, a Blockchain Lab, and 10 Bitcoin ATMs across the city.
Razormind announced today the opening of a new high tech European HQ for operations in Belfast. The offices are strategically located in the very heart of the capital city of Northern Ireland in the Scottish Provident Building beside the City Hall.
Razormind is steadily adding to a list of offices in London, Manchester, Paris, Oslo, and Amsterdam for which the Belfast HQ will take a leading role. The new offices will create 12 jobs with Razormind looking to expand cyber security and other services across the Northern Ireland market with contractors and freelance workers where necessary.
Blockchain Lab in Belfast
The Offices coincide with the opening of Razormind’s first Blockchain Lab in Belfast called Blade Systems. Blade Systems is situated near the Queens University district although open to students and experts from across the province. It aims to provide real access to blockchain tech through training, workshops, active research, and trialling of Blockchain systems using VR as well as traditional desktop and mobile platforms.
Research in the Blockchain Lab will focus on use-cases for Banking, Payments, Enterprise and Industry with a special focus on immediate benefits to the Northern Irish economy to cushion the impact of Brexit.
It is anticipated that food and energy prices will rise sharply approaching Brexit as these are imported from the EU. With a corresponding increase in cybercrime already underway the new HQ will focus on providing local businesses with a direct means to protect and preserve their business operations through access to high quality cyber security.
Razormind will be offering BitCoin services directly to the Northern Irish public powered by DeOS secure from spying and intrusion due to their underlying blockchain technology.
BitCoin and Blockchain
Bitcoin and Blockchain currencies remain untaxed under UK and EU Law and the value of BitCoin has risen to over £1100 per coin in recent months. This is in sharp contrast to both Sterling and the Euro which have fallen sharply. BitCoin technology if implemented correctly can not only provide immediate financial returns but also increase security for local businesses through what is shaping up to be a challenging economic climate.
To help businesses step up to blockchain technology, Razormind will provide workshops and training with certifications and real world experience of the new technology.
Razormind is placing 10 BitCoin ATMS across Northern Ireland. The initiative will drive plans to build out everyday services into the community to raise awareness of the possibilities of Blockchain technology. Several new tax free Bitcoin ATM's are destined for key locations around the city to include Belfast City Airport, Royal Avenue, Castlecourt, Titanic and the Cathedral Quarter.
Locations align with known ‘Bitcoin hotspots’ to help the local economy flourish and allow local businesses to recognise the savings and flexibility of using digital currency. The Razormind investment will see Belfast having the most Bitcoin ATMs per head than any other city in the UK, North America and East Asia.
Razormind intends on supplying the BitCoin ATMs at no cost to the business, programming, shipping to the correct location and installing for them. Razormind will take care of all maintenance and service if the machine ever requires it, and give business and their customers a 24/7 toll-free support line to report problems or ask questions.
Two types of placement are planned:
With this program, Razormind will take care of everything for the business — including cash management. There is never any need to worry about anything related to the ATM.
With this program, the business can manage the cash in the ATM directly. Any money that customers cash out is automatically redeposited into your bank account every 24 hours.
With both programs, businesses earn a percentage of the surcharge profits from the machine, which are paid on the 20th of every month.

In order to catalyse this we will welcome 20 paid interns and also set up a blockchain lab in South Belfast to encourage new initiatives, putting Belfast firmly on the Blockchain map.”
